Corinne McDonald is now a Music Therapist in Columbus, Ohio
The King's Academy Conservatory of the Arts wishes to congratulate 2012 graduate Corinne McDonald on her new position as Music Therapist. The TKA Conservatory of the Arts is proud of Corinne for working incredibly hard to achieve her dreams.
Corinne McDonald is a 2012 graduate of The King’s Academy. She decided to study music at Lee University for one year before she transferred to Florida State University to pursue her passion for music therapy. Corinne was an active member and past Vice President of Alpha Mu Alpha the Student Music Therapy Society at FSU. She worked with the board to start events in the Tallahassee community like Saturday morning sings at nursing homes, structuring a gymnastics class for children with special needs with music, and reach out events for the homeless population. She has also attended national and regional conferences of the American Music Therapy Association.
Corinne graduated from Florida State University with a bachelors degree in music therapy and a minor in psychology. She is now moving to Ohio to begin her career at a forensic mental health facility in Columbus. In her position she will be in charge of leading group music therapy sessions with patients, the patient rock band, drum circles, composing and arranging music for patient groups and the Christmas cantata in December, and much more. She is excited to start this new chapter of her life and thankful to be so passionate about the career path she has chosen.
