Percussion

The King’s Academy offers various opportunities for percussion students.  Beginning percussion is made up of students in the 7th grade and older.  The Percussion Ensemble is made up of students in grades 9th – 12th.  Percussionists also are members of Concert, Symphonic and Wind ensemble.  They also play a key role in the Marching Lions.  The Percussion Ensemble performs at all concerts during the year.  They also perform in the Florida Bandmaster’s Association solo and ensemble event each year where they consistently earn superior ratings.
 
Performances by the percussion ensemble are a highlight of most concerts.  The ensemble has played music ranging from Dvorak to Yanni.  They use the wide range of instrumentation available to today’s modern percussionist.  The percussion ensembles are under the direction of Eric Dunn.
